Hotels catering to the demands of various economic groups are available in Varkala.  Based on tariff rates and the facilities available they are classified as Top Range, Medium Range and Budget Range. Rates will be the highest during the peak time (Dec-April/May). Discount rates are available during off-season. Some hotels even permit bargaining in rates during the off-season. Prices get higher as you move closer to the beach. If you are willing to stay a few meters away from the beach, you may get better rooms for the same price. Top Range hotels provide facilities such as swimming pools, satellite television, and conference halls. Some hotels arrange for tour packages during the season. Room rent varies from Rs.1,501 to 10,000 (USD 35 to USD 250)  per day.


Medium range hotels boast of providing car parking facilities, A/c rooms, airport pick up and refrigerators and televisions in every room. Many have separate travel desks and arrange for air port pick ups if prior information is given. Rent varies from Rs.501-1,500 (USD 12 to USD 35).


Budget range hotels provide simple, clean rooms with hot water facility and separate bathrooms and balconies. They may even have international telecom facility, air port pick ups and tour packages. Rent Rs.100-500 (USD 3 to USD 12).
